I can confirm that the KG 40 reprint is inbound! I expect to take delivery in mid-August 2025.
This will be a VERY limited reprint – the majority of copies are already earmarked for wholesalers. There will probably only be around 50 copies left for private individuals, and that’s it!
You can head over to the ‘shop’ part of the website now to secure a copy.
Our excellent new book by Chris Goss is now in stock, ending a 40 year wait for a complete history of this famous Luftwaffe unit. Packed with details, photos, colour profiles, loss lists and much more. Destined to become the definitive English-language book on the ‘World in a Ring’ Geschwader.
Order now through the website, or via our eBay shop if you are outside the UK and prefer to pay any taxes at source:
I am also working with my usual Global distribution partners, some of which are listed below:
USA – RZM Imports
Europe – Lela Presse (France)
Berliner Zinnfiguren (Germany)
Japan – Beavercorp
The KG 40 proof was signed off and the books are now being printed! I expect to take delivery of this fantastic new title at the start of April.
Pre-sales are looking strong. This will be a limited release, so if you’re on the fence don’t wait! Pre-order today in the shop section to avoid disappointment.
Hi everyone – it’s been brought to my attention that unfortunately there is a printing error in the He 115 book.
The contents page alludes to a chapter ten, namely ‘The Heinkel He 115 compared to similar contemporary seaplanes’ and there are apparent ‘missing’ pages. This is not the case. At a late stage in the design process we decided to eliminate chapter ten completely. Unfortunately the printers failed to realise this. Therefore the pagination seems to skip from pp.325 to pp.330 (which were the pages earmarked for ch.1o). This also explains why there are three or four apparent ‘extra’ blank pages at the end of the book
*REST ASSURED* there is no missing content – what should be there, is there. The pagination is correct, and the chapters listed on the contents page refer to the correct page numbers.
I would like to apologise for this oversight. We spent literally hundreds of hours editing, checking and checking again…but there is no accounting for errors by other parties. This does sometimes happen in the publishing world.
Once again – the book is exactly how it should be, and contains the exact information we wished to put in the book – there is just a ‘ghost’ chapter ten! I hope this does not spoil your enjoyment of the book.
What I might do is to provide the ‘missing’ chapter online, for free, as a red-only or possibly downloadable PDF file – please bear with me on that point.

I spoke to my printer today, and the brand new Heinkel He 115 book is due for delivery at the end of November, right on schedule! Those of you who pre-ordered don’t have long to wait now….I will also update my store page, as well as my eBay page once the books arrive.

It give me great pleasure to announce that Chandos Publications, in association with Robert Forsyth at Chevron Publishing, will soon realise a long-held ambition to release the first in what we hope will be a long-running compendium relating to the Luftwaffe and co-belligerent air forces. Drawing on the talents of many well known names in the Luftwaffe research and writing community, each issue will be packed with stories, photographs and artwork. There are many fascinating pieces of information on the Axis air forces that are still unpublished, that are too short for a regular book, but are also too important to sit on a hard drive ad finitum. ‘Axis Wings’ aims to make these stories known, accompanied by specially commissioned artwork, and photographs from private collections. Each issue will be approximately 200 pages long, in a softcover format. The price will be around £40 per issue, and initially we plan to release two issues per annum. A subscription with a reduced price is something that we will consider if there is strong enough interest. The success of this project very much depends on how well the concept is received, but as long as there is a demand we will keep working. We hope that ‘Axis Wings’ will grow organically, and become self-perpetuating, and to that end we welcome the submission of stories, photographs and comments for future editions.
Planned publication date is the first quarter of 2024
Yesterday I took delivery of the print-ready PDF files for our new book on the He 115. This title has been gestating for some time – in fact over ten years – and it has taken a massive amount of work to get it ready for publication. Over the coming days I will be updating the website with details of how to order. The book is extremely comprehensive, with 392 pages, hundreds of photos, drawings and profiles, as well as extensive production and loss-lists and an examination of Werknummer blocs. This book aims to dispel the myths that have perpetuated about the type over the last 80 years, and to finally present, in English, the most comprehensive book yet on this enigmatic aircraft.
Good news – today I pulled the trigger and placed the print order for the reprints. I expect to take delivery in 6-8 weeks although it could be sooner.
Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered, and thanks for your patience.
